L-Pass (Library Pass)

Your NorQuest Student ID can be your ticket to Edmonton Public Library (EPL) membership through the L-Pass. If you don't have an EPL membership, you can get it now, by clicking on the L-Pass image and completing the registration form. If you already have an EPL membership you can still choose to use your NorQuest ID Card as your public library card, your accounts will be merged.

EPL membership is a privilege of access that includes digital resources, books, music, audio books, programming and a multitude of services.

Overview

NorQuest College Library is working in partnership with the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) to provide access to public library services to NorQuest faculty, staff and students. Faculty, staff and students registered for the L-Pass can access all services currently available to any EPL card holder, including online resources, inter-library loans, books, magazines and much more.
There is no cost to faculty, staff and students. The NorQuest Library is providing this service in partnership with EPL.


Eligibility

Most current NorQuest faculty, staff and students should be eligible to register for the L-Pass.
Yes. Existing EPL card holders can register for the L-Pass through the NorQuest Library L-Pass registration website. The barcode on your NorQuest ID card will be applied to a new EPL account. This means that while a faculty, staff or student at NorQuest, you will use the barcode on your ID card to access EPL services ? not your existing EPL library card.
Yes. You can still use your TAL card at all participating library systems in Alberta. The TAL card does not, however, provide access to all available EPL services and the L-Pass does.
 

Registration

It's simple. Go to the NorQuest Library L-Pass registration website and follow the registration prompts. Once registered, the barcode on your NorQuest ID card will serve as your access to Edmonton Public Library services, online and in person. more details

Your NorQuest student ID card has your library barcode printed at the bottom - it is a 13 digit number that starts with 138.

Please report your lost L-pass registered ID card to Edmonton Public Library as soon as possible. You will need to talk to an Edmonton Public Library staff member to reactivate your L-pass on your replacement ID card.
Yes. Your L-Pass will expire each year on June 30th for faculty, staff and students registered in the previous school year (July - June). You can register 9 days before your account expires or any time after it expires provided you are still a faculty, staff or student at NorQuest. For example, a current student registering for the L-Pass on February 3, 2018, will have an expiry date of June 30, 2018.
EPL requires this information to set up your account in its system. Your personal information will not be used for any other purposes.

Registration for the L-Pass is only available through NorQuest's L-Pass registration website. A faculty, staff or student can register at an EPL location by going online to the NorQuest Library L-Pass registration website.
Yes. Existing EPL PINs can be re-used. Only the barcode on your NorQuest ID card is applied to your EPL account. If you do not have a PIN, you will be asked to create one for access to online services.
You can use EPL's Forgot your PIN? service. You can also call any EPL branch to receive your PIN number over the phone. Confirmation of your card number and other account information will be required.
 

Resources & Materials

You can use all services currently available to any EPL card holder, including online resources such as Overdrive audio books, inter-library loans, books, videos/DVDs, magazines and much more.
Yes. All EPL users assume responsibility for damaged or lost materials. Payment must be made at a branch of the Edmonton Public Library. Outstanding late charges for Edmonton Public Library materials do not affect your NorQuest Library account or privileges.
